"Bobtail Squid" is a small painting that was inspired by that beautiful documentary “My Octopus Friend”. I never thought I’d cry at the sight of a tiny female laying her eggs, and then, as nature designed, she dies.
This little gal is hiding in the urchins and kelp, trying to stay out of sight, as the hammerheads cruise by overhead. Bobtail Squid are very tiny, much like the octopus in the film.
