I painted this based on diving experiences in Belize, and the Sea of Cortez.
The Chambered Nautilus live in an intricately chambered shell. When cut away, the lustrous inner shell is a nearly perfect equiangular spiral. Though not the “golden spiral”. Endangered, not extinct.
